Mirage Media is a collaborative creative outlet for actors and filmmakers to pursue joy while they grow their resumes, reels, and reputations in the film industry through the production of original short films.
We are a community of volunteer actors and filmmakers who support and encourage one another in an industry which is often lonely and discouraging. This is a collective effort to do more of what we love and have something to show for it. We emphasize quick turnarounds to ensure everyone involved receives footage and credit in a timely manner.
J’Moi Powell | Co-Founder | Writer | Actor
Known for his work with Duke City Repertory Theatre, in the Netflix original drama-thriller, Chambers, J'Moi is a relative newcomer to the world of acting. He's attended many classes and intensive training through UNM, Sol Acting Academy, Horizon Studios and most recently, the prestigious Identity School of Acting. J'Moi is originally from the U.S. Virgin Islands and now resides in Albuquerque NM, with his wife and 3 children. He began pursuing his dream as an actor after transitioning from the U.S Air Force in late 2018.
Leah Livingston | Co-Founder | Writer | Actor
Leah Livingston is an actor/writer in Albuquerque, NM. Known for the role of Cirice in Harbinger. They have trained at By Design Instinctively Motivated Acting school and Sol Acting Studios. They also works as an editor for a publishing company and are a spouse and a parent to two kiddos. They love playing roles who are emotionally complex and a bit disturbed. Acting has always been an act of bravery for Leah. It is, perhaps most importantly, the place where they embrace themself—and the spectrum of humanity—without judgment.
Alex Jack | Co-Founder | Writer | Director | DoP | Editor
Alex Jack is a writer/director from Albuquerque, New Mexico. He graduated from UNM with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree focused on writing and directing in film. Alex has written and directed a variety of short films in multiple genres, though he prefers to produce sci-fi shorts. He is currently writing an original sci-fi TV series that he hopes to develop in the near future.
